LEDDY TUBE modules employ advanced LED technology. As a result, they emit the same amount of light as normal fluorescent lamps but consume half the energy, a key feature for the ecologically responsible consumer that also translates into considerable savings on the electricity bill. An additional advantage is the durability of these LED modules. In contrast to regular fluorescent lamps, whose light output drops to half after a year of use, LEDs can be used for years without replacement, thus saving further money.

LEDDY TUBEs are very easy to install. Each model is equipped with specific adapters that allow it to be installed in any luminaire (even with Juwel T5s, for specific models). The modules are powered by their own independent energy source. There are four versions available: two for freshwater aquaria (SUNNY, which emits light with a colour temperature of 6500K similar to the solar spectrum, and PLANT, with a colour temperature of 8000K, designed to stimulate the growth of aquatic plants) and two for saltwater aquaria (MARINE, which emits light with a colour temperature of 10000K, designed to boost the growth of corals, and ACTINIC, with 20000K, to enhance colours).

The innovative self-repair system

As one of the most up-to-date aquarium solutions, LEDs have ousted the outdated fluorescent tubes from the market. They provide the ideal light parameters for a tank, while consuming significantly less energy than conventional light sources. Moreover, their lifetime is several times longer than that of fluorescent lamps. This means further savings, as there is no need for frequent replacement.

In order to make this life even longer, AQUAEL has implemented a new solution. The latest generation of LEDDY SLIM and RetroFit is equipped with an innovative self-repair system.

In the course of time, some installed LEDs may fail. Should this happen, AQUAEL has developed an effective solution for this problem. In the SUNNY versions, if a diode stops working, its functions are taken over by a nearby LED that begins to emit more light. Thanks to this, even if individual LEDs fail, the lamp continues to function properly, and the light parameters remain unchanged. In the PLANT versions, on the other hand, the system is based on the presence of additional LEDs that are not normally operational. They will only be activated if one of the primary diodes should fail, ensuring stable light and lighting parameters.

Thanks to the self-repair system, the LEDDY TUBE RETRO FIT will work even longer, providing the ideal lighting conditions for plant growth and tank observation.
