Overview

A complex system of non-pathogenic aerobic and anaerobic bacteria and natural enzymes, specifically formulated to initiate biological filtration in newly started aquaria and to increase the rate of nitrification, denitrification and degradation of organic matter in marine and cold-water aquaria through complete remineralisation of nutrients.

It is supplied in a state of suspended animation for maximum product longevity. Formulated using extensive data collected by microbiologists.

Benefits

1. Rapid reduction of organic carbon, ammonia, nitrite, nitrate and phosphate.

2. Degradation of uneaten food, excrement, detritus and other latent organic material, resulting in a cleaner, healthier aquarium floor

3. Reduction of organic compounds into nutrients that encourage the growth of photosynthetic organisms.

4. Drastically reduces hydrogen sulphide production.

5. It increases the concentration of dissolved oxygen.

6. It limits the availability of pre-existing phosphate for unwanted algae and cyanobacteria.

7. Increases water clarity.

Technical Background

The concentration of dissolved and suspended organic matter in any aquatic environment can have a significant impact on the general appearance of an entire system, as well as the health of the organisms residing in it. Environments with a relatively low nutrient load are characterised by water clarity, a lack of unpleasant odours and the absence of microalgae and cyanobacteria; this is overall the result of a lack of Nitrogen, Phosphorous and Carbon compounds. Aquaria that are relatively rich in available nutrients have the opposite characteristics to those mentioned above and are not normally desired due to the resulting appearance of the system and the difficulty of maintaining healthy inhabitants in the aquarium.

Brightwell Aquatics MicrōBacter7 is an extremely effective enzyme and bacterial selective compound that rapidly reduces the concentration of organic Nitrogen, ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, phosphate and organic Carbon in all marine and freshwater ecosystems, resulting in greatly improved water quality; better water quality normally leads to healthier aquarium inhabitants.

MicrōBacter7 does not require refrigeration, however, storage in a cool place away from light will prolong the effectiveness of the vitamins. Refrigeration will maximise the product's shelf life.

Instructions and Guidelines

Shake the product before use. Mix an appropriate amount of MicrōBacter7 (as indicated below) with 250ml aquarium water in a container. If using a pipette to dose MicrōBacter7, ensure the pipette is clean or washed thoroughly with fresh water before inserting it into the bottle of MicrōBacter7; failure to do so will contaminate the product. Better results can be obtained by adding the mixture to the external biological filtration system (if possible). Do not administer at the suction of pumps. For best results, use within one year of purchase.

Coarse overdoses of MicrōBacter7 will not significantly increase the effectiveness of the product, nor the speed with which it will effect changes in the aquarium. The following recommendations are based on numerous tests and will produce the best results in most aquaria.

Medium to highly nutrient-laden systems, or newly started aquariato effectively decrease the concentration of available nutients and waste material in all marine and freshwater aquaria, add 5 ml per 94.6 litres (25 gallons) [≈4 drops per approx. 3.8 litres of water] of aquarium water daily for the first two weeks of use; the impact of MicrōBacter7 on the aquarium at this stage is the most obvious. Switch off the skimmer and UV lamp for a period of about 4 hours after feeding in the aquarium. A visible difference in water clarity should normally be evident within about 30 minutes after feeding. Follow the same guidelines for newly started aquaria. Then switch to the dosage for stable aquaria indicated below.

Stable, low nutrient loading systems: to maintain a low concentration of available nutrients in all marine and freshwater aquaria, dose no more than 5ml of MicrōBacter once a week7 every 189.3 litres (50 gallons) [≈2 drops per 3.8 litres] of aquarium water. Turn off the skimmer and UV lamp for about 4 hours after dosing in the aquarium. The dosage can be changed depending on the perceived benefits in the aquarium, however, it is recommended not to exceed the daily dosage of one drop per 37.85 litres (10 gallons). Over time, the hobbyist may determine that decreasing the dosage and/or frequency to 50% may be sufficient to maintain a low nutrient load environment. During changes in biological filtration, or when increasing the organic load of the aquarium, dose one drop per day per 94.6 litres (25 gallons) for one week, then return to dosing for stable aquaria.

Attention: Keep out of reach of children. Not suitable for human use.
