Set of 4 5-litre canisters
(Base KH1, Base KH2, Base CAL, Base MAG)
Contains all essential trace elements found in natural seawater, organic and inorganic micronutrients and amino acids in one product! Everything you need to maintain a thriving and colourful reef aquarium in a special secret proportional formula. Developed to enhance red, pink, blue, purple and especially yellow/orange pigments and the extreme extension of polyps in all types of corals. Designed for reef aquaria with a blue side spectrum for better excitement and colour stimulation, but can be used in all kinds of reef conditions. With the correct white spectrum and light planning, this product can increase growth by 2 times the normal rate, but will also be consumed by about 1.5-2 times. It is a 4-part equal dosing system with proportional KH consumption (@ 7.5-8dKH) to avoid overdosing. The aim is to make professional and modern reef maintenance simple and easy.
Concentration:
10 ml x 100 litres will increase 1 dKH
Preparation:
This product can be dosed by hand, but a metering pump is recommended, especially for SPS-dominant reef aquaria. A calibratable 4-head dosing pump is preferable. You can combine the KH1 and KH2 dosing base in one pump if your dosing pump only has 3 heads, but you will have to multiply the dosing by 2.
Please consider these tips to improve pump performance and accurate dosing:
The hose from the containers to the dosing pump heads should be the same length and the hose from the pumps to your aquarium should also be the same length. This will cause the pumps to have certain conditions and the calibration will be more constant between them.
Calibrate the dosing pump.
programme to dose equal parts and give 10 minutes between each dosing pump. Ideally, start with KH1, then CAL, then KH2, then MAG with 10-15 minutes in between.
Distribute the dosage over 24 hours and try to distribute the dosage as often as the dosing pump allows per day.
Dosage:
just dose equal parts from each to keep the KH between 7.2-8.5 dKH and everything else will be maintained proportionally. The first 2 weeks, find the ideal KH level for the light spectrum of your reef aquarium based on calcium consumption. In other words, dose equal parts to keep calcium stable between 380-420 ppm and then test your KH to find your ideal KH level between 7.2-8.5 dKH. Try using the same KH tester and keep it constant.
Example 1: If you are dosing equal parts from each to maintain KH at 7.5 and your calcium is dropping, increase the dosage to increase and maintain KH at 7.7 and check the calcium again. Repeat if necessary. Once you have found the ideal KH level for your aquarium, it is not necessary to test the calcium often.
Example 2: If you are dosing equal parts from each to maintain KH at 8 and your calcium is increasing, lower the dosage to decrease and maintain KH at 7.8 and check the calcium again. Repeat if necessary. Once you have found the ideal KH level for your aquarium, it is not necessary to test the calcium often.
