Driftwood (also known as Manila or Jati wood) is among the most commonly used types of wood in aquaristics due to its excellent size/price ratio and specific weight, making it a particularly heavy wood that is immune to floating.  

Their elongated and highly porous structure makes them ideal for Amazon biotopes and for the establishment of aquatic plants such as Anubias, Java Ferns, Bucephalandra, etc.

It is advisable to purge the wood very well to avoid pH changes once it is placed in the aquarium due to the wet acids that tend to be released into the water.
